With this visa you can

live in Australia for up to 2 years

work and study in Australia (you will not receive government support)

apply for a permanent Contributory Parent visa (subclass 143) visa
You must
-
be sponsored by an eligible child who is a settled Australian citizen, Australian Permanent resident or Eligible New Zealand citizen
-
meet the balance-of-family test
-
meet all visa conditions and follow Australian law
-
not have already applied for or hold a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) (Subclass 870) visa when applying for this visa

With this visa, you

can visit Australia for up to 3 or 5 years per visa

can apply for further visas to visit up to a maximum period in Australia of 10 years

cannot work in Australia
You must

have an approved Parent Sponsor before you can lodge an application for this visa

apply online for this visa

lodge your visa application within 6 months of the sponsorship approval, or 60 days if you are given Permission to Apply in Australia
Dependent Child Visa
(subclass 445)
With this visa the child can

move to or stay in Australia until we decide their parent's permanent partner visa application

travel to and from Australia

work and study in Australia
The child must
-
be a dependent child of the visa-holding parent
-
be sponsored by the nominator or sponsor of the visa-holding parent
Contributory Aged Parent (Temporary) Visa

With this visa you can

live in Australia for up to 2 years

work and study in Australia (you will not receive government support)

apply for a permanent Contributory Aged Parent (subclass 864) visa
You must

have an eligible child who is a settled Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen

be old enough to receive the Australian aged pension

be in Australia, but not in immigration clearance, when you apply for this visa and when we make our decision

not have already applied for or hold a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) (Subclass 870) visa when applying for this visa

With this visa, the child can

be under 18 years, a full-time student aged over 18 and under 25 and financially dependent on the parent, or over 18 and unable to work due to a disability

be single and dependent on the parent

be outside Australia when the application is made
