

Visitor Visas
Electronic Travel Authority (subclass 601)
With this visa, you can travel to Australia:
-
as a tourist - for example, to cruise or have a holiday
-
to visit family or friends
-
as a business visitor
-
to study or train for up to 3 months on this visa.
This is a temporary multiple-entry visa and is valid for travel to Australia for either 12 months, or for the period your passport is valid, whichever is shorter.
You can remain in Australia for 3 months after each entry.
Sponsored Family Stream Visitor Visa (subclass 600)
This visa stream lets people who are sponsored, by a family member, come to Australia to visit their family members.
You must be sponsored by an eligible family member who is an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
You can stay up to 12 months on this visa.
Australian Immigration might ask your sponsor to pay a security bond.
This visa stream is for citizens of the People's Republic of China who travel often to Australia for business or personal reasons.
The visa can be granted for up to 10 years. You can stay for up to 3 months each time you enter.

You must hold a passport from the People's Republic of China, SARs excluded

You must provide biometrics within the People's Republic of China before you apply
Work and Holiday Visa
(subclass 417)
This visa is for young adults who want an extended holiday and to work here to fund it.
First Work and Holiday visa
This visa lets people 18 to 30 years old (or 35 years old for some countries) have their first extended holiday in Australia and work here to help fund their trip.

You can apply for a second Working Holiday visa if you meet certain eligibility criteria
Stay - 12 months
Second Work and Holiday visa
This visa lets people 18 to 30 years old (or 35 years old for some countries) who currently hold, or who have held, a Working Holiday visa, have a second working holiday in Australia.

You can do any kind of work while you are here

You must have completed 3 months of specified subclass 417 work

If you are in Australia, you must hold a substantive visa or your last substantive visa expired less than 28 days ago

You can apply for a third Working Holiday visa if you meet certain eligibility criteria
Stay - 12 months
Third Work and Holiday visa
This visa lets people 18 to 30 years old (or 35 years old for some countries) who currently hold, or who have held, a second Working Holiday visa, have a third working holiday in Australia.

You must have completed 6 months of specified subclass 417 work

If you are in Australia, you must hold a substantive visa or your last substantive visa expired less than 28 days ago
Stay - 12 months
Transit Visa
(subclass 771)
With this visa, you can

enter Australia and stay for no longer than 72 hours before leaving by air or sea
-
enter Australia by air to join the crew of a non-military ship as a Maritime Crew visa (subclass 988) holder
Business Visitor Stream
Visitor Visa (subclass 600)
This visa stream lets you visit Australia for business reasons and stay for up to 3 months.

You can make a short visit for business visitor reasons, but you can't work or sell goods or services

Australian Immigration might let you enter Australia once or many times while the visa is valid.
eVisitor (subclass 651)
With this visa, you can travel to Australia:

as a tourist - for example, to cruise or have a holiday
-
to visit family or friends
-
as a business visitor
You can study or train for up to 3 months on this visa.
As a business visitor, you can:

make general business or employment enquiries
-
investigate, negotiate, enter into or review a business contract
-
conduct activities as part of an official government visit

take part in a conference, trade fair, or seminar. The organizers can't pay you to take part
You can't:
-
work for or provide services to a business or organization based in Australia
-
sell goods or services directly to the public
This is a temporary visa granted for 12 months. You can enter Australia any time your eVisitor is valid and stay for up to 3 months at a time.
The eVisitor is granted with multiple entry. You can leave and re-enter Australia as many times as you want while it is valid.
Tourist Stream Visitor Visa
(subclass 600)
This visa stream lets you visit Australia as a tourist, to see family and friends, or for purposes other than business or medical treatment.
You can stay up to 12 months on this visa.
This visa stream is for citizens from certain areas of China visiting Australia on a tour organized by an approved travel agent.
You can stay for the period or until the date specified in your grant letter

This visa lets citizens of the People's Republic of China (excluding SARs) visit Australia with an organised tour group

You must remain with the organised tour group
Work and Holiday Visa
(subclass 462)
This visa is for young adults who want an extended holiday and to work here to fund it.
This visa lets people 18 to 30 years old (inclusive) have an extended holiday in Australia and work here to help fund their trip.
