Coming to New Zealand to study - Apply early

INZ is getting ready for the summer processing peak period for student visa applications, which begins in October each year. Since student visa applications take longer to process during this time, it's important for anyone planning to study in New Zealand in early 2025 to apply as early as possible.

INZ further suggest that students should apply at least 3 months before their planned travel date to increase the chances of getting their application processed on time.

Students who can't apply 3 months in advance due to pending documents, like mark sheets, should apply as soon as they have them. However, they should know that late applications might not be processed in time for their studies to start.

Due to the high number of visa applications expected, INZ won't contact students if documents are missing. If required information is missing, the application will likely be declined. Thus, it becomes important to get the application right the first time by providing all the information and evidence that's required at one go, to avoid any unnecessary delays later on.
